Moving (Season 1) felt quite different from other supernatural-themed content I've seen so far.

I've read some of Kangfull’s comics and watched a few of his movies, but I had no idea he had a concept like this.

It was fascinating.

I also heard that many of his works, like
Light Shop and Timing, are interconnected within the same timeline and universe.

This made me want to check out his other works as well.

I didn't read the webtoon before watching the series, but it turned out to be much better and more engaging than I expected. Despite being 20 episodes long, I ended up binge-watching it without a break.

it seems hard to find who the main character is xD because there are too many lol

Moving is a supernatural drama based on Kangfull’s webtoon. Rather than relying solely on flashy action and shock value, it builds a deep narrative by focusing on emotional depth and character-driven storytelling.

Season 1 moves between the past and present of superpowered families, shedding light on each character’s story.

It also subtly hints at potential conflicts with other superpowered factions, including North Korea and even the U.S., making me even more excited for the next season.

Indeed so many supernaturals lol

The drama begins with the high school days of Bong-seok (Lee Jung-ha) and Hee-soo (Go Youn-jung).

Bong-seok has the ability to fly, while Hee-soo possesses rapid regeneration. Both try to keep their abilities hidden, but Bong-seok discovers Hee-soo’s secret when he witnesses her recovering from an injury in an instant.

Personally, I found Hee-soo to be an incredibly charming character.

Also, this was my first time noticing Go Youn-jung—she definitely made an impression!

Bong-seok floating uncontrollably whenever he gets excited was hilarious.

This scene became a pivotal moment in their relationship.

As they slowly embrace their powers, their growing connection feels refreshingly pure and sweet.

Bong-seok’s efforts to protect Hee-soo brought many smile-worthy moments.

The actors’ performances left a strong first impression—Go Youn-jung exuded a unique charisma, while Lee Jung-ha perfectly embodied the warmth and innocence of his character.

such a hillarious scene jaja

While the story starts with the younger characters, it soon expands through the perspectives of their parents.

Hee-soo’s father, Joo-won (Ryu Seung-ryong), is a man with superhuman strength, known as “Guryongpo.”

He carries the heavy responsibility of using his powers to protect his family.

fried chicken boss xD

On the other hand, Bong-seok’s father, Kim Doo-sik (Jo In-sung), is a former black ops agent with the ability to levitate. His past is deeply intertwined with a secret superpower project.

Jo In-sung’s flying action scenes were some of the most visually impressive moments I’ve seen in a Korean drama.

But beyond the spectacle, these scenes seamlessly intertwined with the characters’ emotional arcs, enhancing the immersion.

What a move lol

Honestly, I wasn’t entirely sure if Han Hyo-joo and Jo In-sung matched well as a couple, but I’ll let that slide.

Bong-Seok's parents and Hee-Soo's dad in the middle (in their past time)

One of the most intriguing characters was Frank (Ryu Seung-bum), an operative from the U.S. government.

He symbolizes how nations exploit and discard superpowered individuals.

His flashback scenes add weight to the storyline, revealing the tragic history of these gifted beings. And man… he looked cool even just by taking off his sunglasses.

Frank VS Guryongpo

Another major aspect of the drama is its North Korean elements.

The clash between North and South Korean superpowered agents creates gripping tension.

Each time a North Korean operative’s abilities and motives are revealed, the drama’s suspense reaches new heights. Combining supernatural elements with the real-world tension of inter-Korean relations was a unique choice that only a Korean drama could pull off.

another agent from N.Korea with flying superpower

One North Korean agent, in particular, was insanely powerful—no matter how much Ryu Seung-ryong’s character hit him, he just wouldn’t go down! That fight scene with YDG? Pure intensity. Absolutely legendary.

agents from N.Korea.. super strong

Season 1 wraps up by seamlessly connecting past and present, unveiling a secret organization tied to the superpowered families.

While Bong-seok and Hee-soo grow closer and accept their abilities, the looming threats ahead hint that their struggles are far from over.

The drama teases the hidden truths of past superpowered individuals and sparks curiosity about new abilities that might emerge in future seasons. This only heightens the anticipation for Season 2.

once a classmate of Hee-Soo, but she was just pretending? lol

What stood out the most about Moving was how it reinterpreted the familiar concept of superpowers through the lens of family.

Beyond Bong-seok and Hee-soo’s youthful romance, the show carries emotional weight through the sacrifices and conflicts of the older generation.

Ryu Seung-bum and Jo In-sung’s performances anchored the drama, while Go Youn-jung and Lee Jung-ha’s fresh energy brought it to life. The North Korean subplot added an extra layer of suspense, making the story even more compelling.

there are more stories from other classmates and old superheroes too..

Although Season 1 didn’t fully dive into conflicts with global factions like the U.S. or North Korea, I have a strong feeling that future seasons will expand the universe even further.

Thunder power from Cha Tae-hyun :)

Cha Tae-hyun also played a notable role in the series, and every character had a well-developed backstory. However, since this review was already getting long, I couldn’t include every detail.

But trust me, this is a show worth watching, especially if you love superhero narratives that focus on character depth rather than just flashy action.

Unlike typical supernatural fantasy shows, Moving ties its extraordinary elements to the everyday lives of families, making it an emotionally resonant and well-crafted story.

Now, all we need is an official confirmation for the next season because waiting in uncertainty is just too painful.
